The typical 'Michael Palin'  privately owned mini buses are unscheduled and leave from Bundung  garage or Brikama garage. They leave only when full and pick up and drop off along the whole route.  The journey may take several hours but as on any journey, wherever  you stop you will be surrounded by people selling drinks and fruit and all manner of items, all through the windows.  The fare is between D250 and D300.

Another alternative is to travel with businesses offering services from the tourist area.  Sources such as Facebook groups can always answer your questions with seasoned visitors  offering recommended small companies or taxi services.
