Daily service: Leaving from Kanifing Bus Station at the coast, and travelling to Basse Santa Su at the far east of the country from 7am.

‘Super Express’ services. Costing D385 to Janjanbureh, an excellent form of travel with comfortable seats, air conditioning and no standing. Only stopping at the main towns along the way: Brikama, Soma, Janjanbureh, Bansang and Basse. Arrive at Kanifing about 7am to guarantee a seat or book beforehand. If you leave Kanifing at 8 am, on a good day, you will be in Janjanbureh by 1 pm. Contact us to arrange a booking.
For the return journey to the coast, the Super Express from Basse does not always come on the island if it is already full so it is safer to get a local taxi to Sankuli Kunda off the island and to have booked your seat. Let us help you with that.
Other GTSC services from Kanifing are buses which pick up and drop off anywhere along the route. It can take several hours but is a cheaper option at D185. There usually 4 a day.
All the GTSC services stop at Soma, a bit further than halfway to Janjanbureh for safety checks on the bus and to let the passengers stretch their legs. There are toilets and street food is available outside the garage.

If travelling FROM Janjanbureh to the coast there is a bus starting from and leaving at 7.30 at D185 ( £2.25). You are almost guaranteed a seat. It picks up and drops off at numerous places so no guarantee how long it will take.
Likewise there is similar bus which only travels as far Janjanbureh from Kanifing at 7.30am. There will be more demands for that so get there early​. That too is D185

If travelling FROM Janjanbureh to the coast there is a bus starting from and leaving at 7.30 at D185 ( approx. £2.25). You are almost guaranteed a seat. It picks up and drops off at numerous places so no guarantee how long it will take.
Likewise there is similar bus which only travels as far Janjanbureh from Kanifing at 7.30am. There will be more demands for that so get there early​. That too is D185.
Private Transport

The typical 'Michael Palin' privately owned mini buses are unscheduled and leave from Bundung garage or Brikama garage. They leave only when full and pick up and drop off along the whole route. The journey may take several hours but as on any journey, wherever you stop you will be surrounded by people selling drinks and fruit and all manner of items, all through the windows. The fare is between D250 and D300.
Another alternative is to travel with businesses offering services from the tourist area. Sources such as Facebook groups can always answer your questions with seasoned visitors offering recommended small companies or taxi services.
